Why Admissions Work?I enjoy working with students and prospective applicants. I also enjoy the traveling component and seeing different places.
What’s Great About Your Job?Those times when I make a difference in somebody’s life by helping them achieve their goals, or when someone comes to me after a panel discussion to tell me that I’ve helped to inspire them.
On Common Personal Statement Mistakes:Many times a person will talk about the weaker aspects of their application – like a low G.P.A. or bad standardized test scores. That should be in an addendum, not the personal statement.
Favorite Personal Statement:I remember one applicant wrote a story about how he went down to New Orleans to help after Hurricane Katrina. He focused on how he helped one person to find a ring that had been passed down through the family. It really showed that the applicant would focus on a client’s needs.
On the Benefits of Attending Law Fairs or Forums:You can meet Admissions representatives and get personal advice, so it’s important to have questions prepared.
