Fortunato N. Perri ’88 knows that hard work pays off. After law school and years of working his way up the legal ladder, Perri finds himself right where he wants to be.
“As you handle different kinds of cases, your career moves in different directions,” Perri says. “I now handle serious criminal cases, and that was always my goal.”
Perri, a partner in the Philadelphia firm McMonagle, Perri, McHugh and Mischak, does mostly criminal defense work. He’s garnered a lot of press coverage and is involved in many high-profile cases, including the defense of several well-known hip-hop artists in various matters.
Perri gives a nod to Widener Law for laying the foundation of his success.
“At Widener I learned how to think on my feet and to work through legal issues,” Perri says. “It was a great experience. And if I had to go back and do it all again, I’d make the same choice.”
The trial attorney cites Widener Law’s moot court
, mock trial,
and clinical programs
as great opportunities for hands-on experience. At Widener he learned what to expect in the day-to-day work of an attorney and acquired the basic skills he still uses today.
