“He is an invaluable resource for students, faculty, and staff,” said Widener President James T. Harris, III as he read comments from Harrisburg campus staff members complimenting Media Services Specialist Brian Fearnbaugh for his superb work.

Fearnbaugh was recently honored - along with Tim Cairy, director of Student Success and Retention in Academic Support Services on the Chester campus - with the William David Eckard Jr. Award for Distinguished Service . The award was established by William David Eckard III, longtime vice president of administration and finance at Widener and a 1966 PMC graduate, in memory of his father to help promote and reward excellence at Widener.

A fixture on the Harrisburg campus for thirteen years, Brian wears a number of hats while managing digital media services – everything from helping faculty with equipment to assisting students on presentations. He also edits video and assists with videoconferencing for meetings and classes.

“It’s great to be able to work with everyone on campus,” Brian said. “I enjoy the variety, but I especially love when I get to help with video production and editing.”

During the award presentation, Harris shared additional praise from Harrisburg faculty and staff, saying, “His dedication to the service and support of the campus’s needs, both in technology or wherever help is needed, is one of Harrisburg’s most valuable assets.”

Fearnbaugh was previously named employee of the year in 2012 and received recognition as the students’ favorite support staff member in 2011.
