On Wednesday, February 29th, the Harrisburg Student Bar Association
and Schmidt Kramer PC will host “Hot Coffee: Is Justice Being Served.”
The event will begin with a cocktail reception at 5:15 p.m.
in the Administration Building’s Reception Room to honor Scott Cooper ’93, the President-elect of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice. Following the reception at 6:15 p.m., a screening of the documentary film Hot Coffee
will be shown in Room A180. After the film, Director Susan Saladoff will be available for a live chat question and answer session.
In Hot Coffee, first-time filmmaker and former public interest lawyer Susan Saladoff examines the infamous legal battle that began with a spilled cup of coffee and investigates the furor demanding tort reform that grew out of the case.
A graduate of Cornell University and George Washington University Law School, Susan Saladoff spent twenty-five years practicing law in the civil justice system representing the injured victims of individual and corporate negligence. She began her career with Trial Lawyers for Public Justice, and was recognized by her peers as an Oregon Super Lawyer for five consecutive years from 2006 to 2010. She stopped practicing in 2009 to make the documentary.
Widener Law is grateful the generous sponsorship of Schmidt Kramer PC making this event possible.
