On Monday, November 5th
at 5:00 p.m
. in room L123
, the Delaware campus Women’s Law Caucus
will present a short documentary film followed by a question and answer session with three guest speakers.
The event will look at the Delaware Coalition for Health and Justice
’s Women in Support of Health (WISH) program, which was created to promote the health of at-risk women engaged in prostitution and to reduce the target population’s reliance upon sex work and related criminal activities.
Following the documentary, three special quest speakers will take questions and answers. The speakers for the event are:
- Commissioner Mary McDonough, Delaware Court of Common Pleas
- Joanna Champney, Associate Executive Director, Delaware Center for Justice and Co-Chair of the Delaware Coalition for Health and Justice
- Sara Yarnall, Senior Program Manager, Brandywine Counseling and Community Services
“This powerful documentary sheds light on an invisible, highly stigmatized group. I hope the film and our speakers will remind attendees of the importance of breaking down stereotypes and thinking outside the box to seek justice and compassion always,” says Women’s Law Caucus president Beth Steinberg.
Please be advised that the film, which runs about 25 minutes in length, may contain some strong language and mature content.
