Widener Law Dean Linda L. Ammons today announced the school has named Laurie Grant of Rose Valley, Pa. as its new assistant vice president for development and alumni relations.
Grant will oversee all fund raising and alumni relations for the School of Law’s campuses in Harrisburg, Pa. and Wilmington, Del. Grant also will direct the remaining two years of the law school’s efforts to raise $12 million through its “Taking the Lead: The Campaign For Widener.” To date, the school has raised nearly $9 million toward that goal.
Grant comes to Widener Law from The School in Rose Valley, where she served as director of institutional advancement for the last five years. She has also held numerous development positions throughout Delaware and Pennsylvania, including the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, the College of Physicians of Philadelphia and WHYY Inc.
“I am pleased to add Laurie Grant to our Widener team. She has the professional skills and the personal touch to help us advance the School of Law,” Law Dean Linda L. Ammons said. “I know our alumni and our development interests will be in good hands.”
“I have been deeply passionate about the missions of all of the institutions where I have led fundraising efforts throughout my career,” Grant said. “I truly believe in the value of a law degree, especially a Widener Law degree, and am thrilled to be a part of the Widener team. I’m really looking forward to working with the law school’s alumni and friends and bringing our fund raising to a new level.”
