Orientation Week Ends With Student-Alumni Events On Campus

On Saturday, August 20th, the Harrisburg campus hosted a pair of events for students and alumni to close out Orientation week.

In the morning, students, alumni, and Widener Law faculty and staff took the starting line for the Student-Alumni Fun Run/Walk. For the second consecutive year, the Office of Alumni Relations & Development partnered with the Dean of Students to run the event with prizes awarded afterwards to the first place finishers in the following categories: first place male, first place female, and first place graduate.

During the afternoon, the campus held its first-ever “Widestock” outside of the Student Organizations building. Students, alumni, faculty and staff, and family members as well as furry friends enjoyed pizza and live music during the course of the afternoon. Student organizations hosted display tables in the parking lot and offered new students the opportunity to sign up. Alumni took the opportunity to catch up. Later in the day, a handful of participants enjoyed a pick up soccer game.

The weekend festivities were a great way to close Orientation and welcome new students to the Widener Law family. The next student-alumni event in Central Pennsylvania will be a networking social with bluegrass music at Professor Oliver’s home on Friday, August 26.
