Dean Hosts Harrisburg Minority Networking Social

The Dean of Widener University School of Law hosted a networking social for minority students, alumni, faculty, the Widener Law Harrisburg Diversity Board, and Keystone Bar Association members. Before opening the floor for introductions, Dean Ammons welcomed guests and shared her thoughts on the importance of diversity at Widener-Harrisburg and in the law profession. She stressed the importance of networking and being involved in the legal community. The Dean also announced that the law school would be offering the Jurist Academy program in Harrisburg this summer and that alumni support and student involvement was necessary for the program to be a success. The Keystone Bar Association, Harrisburg’s minority Bar, offered student memberships and reminded attendees of scholarships available through their association. Thirty-seven individuals attended the networking event which was held at the Hilton Harrisburg on Tuesday, September 28, 2010.
