Speaker and Reception Event held in Washington, D.C.
Ashley Barton
- Published: December 11, 2008
Alumni and their guests gathered in Washington, DC, on December 10, 2008, for a regional event. Attendees enjoyed networking with each other and listen to Widener Law National Advisory Council member and guest speaker Michael Brown ’91 talk about the role of media in the recent presidential election. Mr. Brown, managing director for government affairs at Edwards Angell Palmer & Dodge LLP, was a surrogate speaker for President-Elect Obama, frequently appearing on media such as Fox News and participating in speaking engagements on behalf of the Senator. Mr. Brown also won the Washington, D.C., City Council member at-large election in November.
The winter reception which was hosted by Mr. Brown was well-attended. The alumni event consisted of alumni from the first graduating classes all the way through our most recent 2008 graduates practicing in diverse fields of law, creating abundant networking opportunities. We look forward to seeing new attendees and all of the past attendees again in the near future as the Washington, D.C., regional chapter of Widener Law alumni continues to grow stronger in numbers and become more active.
