- Published: December 5, 2008
Widener University School of Law is pleased to announce its graduates recently took the oath and became members of the Pennsylvania Bar.
On Wednesday, December 3, 2008 twenty-five Widener Law graduates were admitted to the practice of law at a ceremony that was held in Philadelphia City Hall, Courtroom 653. The 25 new attorneys sworn in heard remarks from U.S. District Judge C. Darnell Jones II of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Other jurists who attended included Judge Joel S. Johnson ’’91 of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Family Division, Judge Margaret Murphy ’’77 of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Domestic Relations Division and Judge Esther Sylvester, president judge emeritus of the Court of Judicial Discipline.
This Widener-unique event allows the Law School graduates to be admitted to the bar alongside their friends and classmates. A reception that welcomed family and friends to celebrate with the graduates followed the ceremony.
