Delaware campus hosts Delaware Tax Institute

tax1The Delaware campus of Widener Law was pleased to host the 40th-annual, 2007 Delaware Tax Institute daylong continuing education program for tax and legal professionals. The program, sponsored by the University of Delaware, Delaware chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals and the law school, happened Friday, Nov. 9 in the Ruby R. Vale Moot Courtroom.

The program included talks on developments in income tax and estate planning and breakout sessions on a variety of topics including changes affecting tax-exempt organizations. More than 130 tax professionals attended.

Certified public accountant Sheldon S. Cohen, Esq., former commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service and now a tax attorney at Farr, Miller & Washington,  LLC, gave the keynote address, “Tax Law: Where We’ve Been, Where We Are and Where We Might Go.”tax3
