Safety Updates
The Campus Safety Department works closely with the School of Law Dean's Office and the Office of Student Affairs to disseminate information about safety and security matters to the campus community through notices, newsletters, and annual brochures. Members of the university community on the Harrisburg Campus are encouraged to attend crime prevention programs offered at the university's Main Campus in Chester, Pa. In addition, the School of Law weekly newsletter, The Weekly Digest , addresses the issue of campus safety and crime prevention, encouraging students to be aware and responsible for their own safety.

Emergensee Personal Security System

Emergensee is a free cell phone application that community members can download at When activated, your cell phone becomes a transmitter sending video, audio and your global position location to a computer in the Campus Safety Office. This application can be used anytime you feel uncomfortable on campus or witness the commission of a crime. The system will also work on any other college/university campus that has the system.

As the Harrisburg Campus Safety desk is not staffed 24 hours a day, upon activating the application on the Harrisburg campus, the system will transmit the information to the Wilmington Campus Safety Office that is monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week. The Wilmington campus dispatcher will immediately notify the Harrisburg Campus Safety Officer that is on patrol or the Susquehanna Township Police Department.

It’s important to remember that these are tools to supplement our overall Campus Safety efforts and not substitutes for basic safety measures. Always remember to travel in groups, especially late at night, and utilize the campus safety security escort service.
