Safety Updates
The Campus Safety Department works closely with the School of Law Dean's Office and the Office of Student Affairs to disseminate information about safety and security matters to the campus community through notices, newsletters, and annual brochures. Members of the university community on the Delaware campus are encouraged to attend crime prevention programs offered on the Wilmington Campus and the university's Main Campus in Chester, Pennsylvania. In addition, the School of Law weekly newsletter, The Weekly Digest, addresses the issue of campus safety and crime prevention, encouraging students to be aware and responsible for their own safety.

The Campus Safety Department has made great technological strides to ensure a safer campus environment. Surveillance cameras have been placed around campus to enhance the safety and security of Widener University. The surveillance cameras also provide the department with an additional way to monitor campus activities. These video cameras provide Campus Safety with a way to observe individuals before officers are even on the scene. Card Access Control has also been installed on all student residence halls to increase their physical security. Surveillance cameras and card access control are monitored 24 hours a day by the Campus Safety Office.
